Hello once again and as you may have guessed, I’m off on another cool trip!
I’m leaving this afternoon for South Africa, Botswana, Zambia and Mozambique on an Air Safari. Much like the trip a couple of years ago in Australia, a group of us from the Buttonville Flying Club are going to be flying Cessna 172/182s into remote airstrips, staying at lodges and going on safari. We will see the Kalahari desert, Victoria Falls, the Okavango Delta….! I am so excited! First a couple of days in Cape Town, where we plan on seeing Robben Island – Nelson Mandela’s “home” for 35 years and the Two Oceans Aquarium where I may get to scuba dive with the sharks – or not. That will depend on how big they are among other things!
After that I’ll be heading to Rome to see my sweetie, meet up with Sandra and take in a wine tour near Naples. Then we will be spending a few days in Florence, Sienna and back to Rome. Whew! about 6 weeks in total and let me tell you the packing was a challenge.
I’ll post as often as possible but I doubt there is much in the way of internet connectivity in the Kalahari.
